I have to admit i think that Aix is one of the most beautiful cities during christmastime, they go all out. The string lights all over the streets, hang decorations down every side street and have mini white Christmas trees lined up everywhere, not to mention how they line Cours Mirabeau (our main street) with tons of mini booths selling everything from wooden toys, lavender, hand made crafts, and tons and tons of treats like cotton candy, suckers, chocolate and my personal favorite vin chaud (hot wine). Even though it doesnt snow here the weather at some points sure does feel like its about to. I loved it while all of this was up, and now that the time has passed and the decorations have been taken down it just seems to fill bare. I guess ill just have to be patient and wait for spring so the city comes to life again.
Being that a bunch of us werent able to be home this year to spend Christmas with our families we all decided to have a group Christmas dinner at my neighbor Celenas place. Not everyone from the program was here because some of them went on vacation or even went back to California to see their families so whoever was still in Aix ended up coming to our own little "family" dinner. We all just brought our own dish and just spent that night talking and laughing...it was nice to have a little home away from home and have everyone together for Christmas. It was of course not the same but still a lot of fun!
